Oil Coolers

One should never underestimate the importance of an oil cooler for decreasing engine oil temperature. This is especially vital for tuned engines which are way more powerful than their stock brothers. It often happens that oil in tuned engine reaches and exceeds the temperatures of 100 C and it'll inevitably affect motor's and oil's durability. But cooling engine oil is no hard task. Install an oil cooler and your engine is safe. There are several oil cooling patterns. The most straightforward way to direct oil to the cooler is to install a separator under the oil filter. Sometimes it's needed to relocate the oil filter (for more convenient filter change or due to impossibility of keeping the filter in its original place). But relocating the filter is not always a must. The oil cooling system can either be with or without thermostat. Configuration with thermostat is recommended for all-year use. It is known from experience that one should use only high-quality components when fitting an oil cooler since hot oil under high pressure is not a thing to trifled with. You must use thread fittings only and reinforced oil proof hoses, high quality separators and oil coolers.
